Segway announced two new electric scooter models, the E150S and E250S, both expected to hit the European market later this year.
These scooters are expected to be successful in Europe, considering the changing urban mobility in the EU, as governments attempt to implement measures to ensure more sustainable transportation options.
The Segway E150S is a lighter and more affordable option designed for urban riders. It features a nominal motor of 2.7 kW with a peak of 3.6 kW, capable of reaching a top speed of 45 km/h.
The scooter is equipped with a standard 74 V and 27 Ah lithium-ion battery, offering a range of up to 60 km. However, additional batteries can be deployed to extend this range to 180 km.
The E250S is a more powerful alternative, with a 7.5 kW motor, 10 horsepower, and a top speed of 90 km/h. It comes with two batteries as standard, providing a range of 110 km, but a third additional battery can extend the range to about 165 km.
While the E150S is designed for urban environments with speed restrictions, the E250S comes as an option for longer commutes or for riders seeking extra performance without sacrificing efficiency.
